If it is possible to know him through his works, then Omar Carraglia is a simple and calm soul, but very devoted to precision and capable of intense power.
Carraglia’s collaboration with Davide Groppi and his studio has produced a wide variety of designs marked by consistent uniformity and modernity. Narrow and focused, with a clean line and defined geometric contrasts, Carraglia’s Mira family shapes and defines the focus of any space, while the ABA 120 floor lamp and ABA 45 table lamp bring a sense of newness to a classic form.
Playfulness is another essential quality of many of Carraglia’s designs. This inherent sense of fun can be seen all the way back to the whimsical Imu, an outdoor lamp in the shape of a brightly colored birdhouse. Pigreco, another lamp launched in 2019, reveals some intriguing new options from Omar Carraglia. The most notable is the inclusion of a natural wood base, which brings a warmth and earthy touch to the lamp, which in turn is a partially frosted glass sphere. Pigreco evokes the soft, rounded shapes of Carraglia’s Cathode and Light My Fire designs, combined with his fascination with the precision of a sphere’s perfection.
