OUR PICTURE

FAS was created to break concepts, transform the act of lighting into something more – we present complete lighting solutions, excelling at providing experiences! We have design as a tool to create the ideal lighting or even shading for each moment. Light that reveals, hides or disguises. Works of art that stand out bringing a sparkle to the eye. Objects that not only illuminate, but have stories to tell, inspiring and creating unique spaces that make us sigh! For more than 20 years, Functional Art System, FAS, has remained firm in its purpose of uniting art and function under the command of Arystela Paz. FAS believes in this light, that is present in every moment of life.

OUR INSPIRATION

FAS is the exclusive representative of German designer Ingo Maurer (1932-2019) in Latin America. His genius helped to build and stablish our reason for being: the certainty that lighting can be something stunning, something that goes far beyond the act of an illumination! Maurer passed away at the age of 87 leaving his legacy for the world of lighting: all of his production is part of our collection, including pieces that are no longer produced can be seen and admired. Maurer created extraordinary works, many of which, by making use of ordinary materials such as sheets of paper, or having the lamp itself in its most basic and traditional format. Lamps made to shine, even when turned off. Creations that bring to life such simple feelings and that, at the same time, use the most advanced technology available. Indeed deserving to be called “the poet of light”.

OUR PORTFOLIO

Design, technology, function, quality and emotion are at the essence of the brands that make up the FAS luminaires catalogue. Complete collections from brands that focus on illuminated sculptures, capable of transforming environments with their design, such as German brands ClassiCon, Next and Serien. ClassiCon is a traditional brand and brings models with a timeless design, classics that cross generations with the same youthfulness. Next draws attention to its sculptural lamps with organic shapes, which can make you want to touch it and seem to drip from the ceiling. The delicate creations of Spanish Santa&Cole translate poetry into light. Or would it be the opposite? Another German, Serien, and the Italians Oty Light and Davide Groppi – which presents minimalist production – complete the portfolio.

OUR HOUSE

As expected, the FAS house has made, and still makes history. Ingo Maurer himself, in collaboration with the architects from the Rizoma studio and the architect Ana Menoita, who made the necessary interventions to shape the building into the perfect house, the stage for our lamps. A tunnel connects the visitor to another dimension. A minimalist sensory experience created with light, that feels like arriving in heaven. The reception is warm and welcoming. There, the white walls are seemless! The structure simply disappears to make way for the true protagonists. The eyes can only see the works of light. Architecture fulfills its function.
