Maurizio Mancini

Maurizio Mancini is an Italian designer born in Piacenza in 1952. He studied at the Milan Polytechnic and graduated in architecture in 1976. For Davide Groppi, Mancini designed the Belladinotte lamp, a good example of his creativity. The piece is accompanied by a mirror that hides the light source, designed to illuminate gardens in an effective and discreet way. For those looking for a floor lamp, another model designed by the designer is the Masai. The lamp adds a touch of style to interiors with sobriety and subtlety.  About the lamp, Mancini said: “I have always been fascinated by stories about the Masai. The Maasai are a unique people, far from us. Its origin is said to have occurred when the ancestor of all the Maasai – Mamasinta – climbed the great ravine. According to him, all of this is to explain that pieces never simply arise from an idea or design, but are always the result of visions, intuitions, associations, stories and words. Masai is a lamp for illuminating works of art, paintings, whose light source is a normal electrical outlet. Therefore, it is possible to place the light wherever necessary and at any time. The luminaire is height adjustable and the luminous flux is adjustable.
